RESOLVE is a tri-provincial prairie research network that seeks solutions to violence and abuse. RESOLVE’s research mandate primarily focuses on violence involving women and girls, however, we conduct research on all forms of family violence in the broader context of communities and schools.
Another of RESOLVE’s central mandates is sharing and disseminating research results. RESOLVE hosts an annual research day to showcase research and evaluations that address violence and suggest better ways to prevent and intervene to assist victims and create meaningful societal change. They are inviting academics, community organizations and government/officials or policy makers to share their research initiatives and results.
Research topics may include (but are not limited to):
- violence against girls or women
- youth violence
- elder abuse
- violence and diversity
- violence prevention
- the criminal justice response to domestic violence
- victim or offender treatment
- legislative approaches to domestic violence
- evaluations of programs that address or prevent violence
- the Legacy of Residential Schools and their intergenerational impact.
They are looking for completed research projects or presentations that describe interesting elements of the research project (such as challenges, successes, partnerships).
