Cheryl Matthews works full time as the Co-ordinator and trainer for the Manitoba Trauma Information and Education Centre. She has a Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Winnipeg. Cheryl has worked in the trauma field for a number of years working in the federal correctional system as a parole officer. Cheryl has also worked as a family therapist and in the development and facilitation of groups for homicide survivors. In addition to her private practice work, Cheryl is also an Approved Supervisor with the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
Sheona Campbell is a part-time trainer with the Manitoba Trauma Information & Education Centre and works as a counsellor in Klinic’s Community Drop In program. She has been employed at Klinic for 8 years and is working to complete her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Her interest in trauma includes understanding the neurobiological impact of trauma and the role mindfulness plays in the process of healing.
Erin Gallana is a part-time trainer with the Manitoba Trauma Information & Education Centre. She has a Master’s in Education with an emphasis in Counselling. Erin has worked with trauma in various forms throughout her counselling career. She worked with children and adolescents that were sexually abused, and became interested in how individuals can heal and recover from trauma through group therapy and expression. She also has worked as part of a trauma response team helping individuals dealing with loss and bereavement following a natural disaster. Erin is particularly interested in how individuals cope and heal from trauma by exploring the emotions surrounding their experiences.
